Funky rockin' bands!
(Plays Late Night 1:15am til 4am)

Driven by powerful vocals and soulful grooves, San Francisco’s Con Brio (“with vigor” or “spirit”) blends old-school grit with new-school sophistication for a sound that’s wholly their own. The addition of Benajmin Andrews’ barn-burning guitar playing and Zeik McCarter’s hair-raising vocals to the gritty, organ-driven soul of the long-standing original rhythm section (Jonathan Kirchner, Andrew Laubacher, Micah Dubreuil) will keep heads nodding and the dance floor moving until the very last note fades away. Their unique take on high-octane funk and deep-pocket grooves has left the band poised to launch into the stratosphere in 2013.

Not surprisingly, there’s a loyal (and constantly growing) legion of fans who turn up to get down at every Con Brio show, and the band doesn’t disappoint; each performance is hot, heavy and different from the last. Combining raw talent, a dynamic stage presence and spontaneous style with a professional polish usually seen in much more veteran ensembles, the band is tight and energetic — and when it comes to spirit, they’ve got it in spades.

(playing "Late-Night" [1:15am til 4am])
Mike Dillon is one of the most dynamic and multifaceted percussionists in the country, best known for his unforgettable live performances, unorthodox percussion rig and distinct original sound. After emerging in late 1980’s as the first to lead a rock/funk band as a vocalist and vibraphone player, contributing to its evolution by his use of effects, Dillon has become well-known for producing genre-bending music that transcends categorization. Over the last 27 years, his creative song-writing and the repertoire of artists he has worked with - - on tour, stage or in the studio - - reveal his eclectic musical inspiration and skillful versatility. Artists such as: Les Claypool, Ani DiFranco, Polyphonic Spree, Brave Combo, Sex Mob, Galactic, Secret Chief’s 3, Karl Denson, Steven Bernstein, Charlie Hunter, James Singleton, George Porter Jr., Johnny Vidocavich and Bob Schneider. His individual projects include: Critter’s Buggin’, Garage A Trois, Billy Goat, Mike Dillon’s Go-Go Jungle, Hairy Apes BMX, Malachy Papers, the Dead Kenny G’s, who regularly open for Primus, and his latest, The Mike Dillon Band.
