Groove 8 is a US based jazz funk collective that is currently on tour in support of its latest album entitled CURIOUS POSES. The name comes from lyrics form the Prince song When Doves Cry. Its fitting because following the release of the album in 2012, Two of the horn players - Trombonist Joey Rayfield and Saxohonist Adrian Crutchfield were asked to joining Prince's New Power Generation and have been touring with him as well as Groove 8. Groove 8 has opened and performed with The Robert Glasper Experience, Dumpstaphunk, Alan Evans Trio, Supastition, and others.

Groove 8 has released four studio albums and one digital album since its inception in 2005. They received positive reviews for their second album DEBUT which was produced by Soulive drummer Alan Evans. The band has performed int eh Bay area during the Fillmore Jazz Festival every year since 2006 and this includes shows at the Boom Boom Room.
